browilDecember 1, 2011 marked a significant event in the life of our Confrere Brother Wilson Gitonga. It was about his graduation in MBA (Master in Business Administration). The ceremony was held in the compound of Tangaza College. It started at 9:00 am and finished at 15:00 p.m.

Brother Wilson based his MBA business idea on Banana Crop Post-harvest Handling and Value Addition. The main objective of his plan is poverty alleviation through creation of a ready market to avoid wastage and exploitation of farmers by the middlemen. That will bring about socio-economic empowerment of the rural banana farmers in Meru County, Kenya. According to Brother Wilson, the MBA Courses offered him necessary tools and skills capable to induce innovative and pragmatic business ideas. What has been acquired is envisaged to be useful in his daily mission work. The skills and tools acquired are universal and open to diverse applications towards initiating viable projects either profit or non-profit for filling gaps present in the immediate society.

This MBA is a program under ALTIS (Alta Scuola Impresa e Societa), the Postgraduate School Business & Society of the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. This was founded in 2005 by Prof. Mario Molteni, Professor of Business Administration and Corporate Strategy at the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. ALTIS embodies both openness towards the international world of business and the willingness to effectively serve the interests of the students and enterprises with which it interacts.

We kindly wish our Confrere Wilson Gitonga Congratulations!
