On August 16, 2011 we noticed the presence of many people in the MC Kenyan regional house. All those kind ladies simply wanted to congratulate Sr Jacinta Theuri, the current MC regional Superior, for being elected Vice General of the Consolata Sisters. In fact, all those ladies did their high school studies in the schools run by the Consolata Sisters from 1950s to 1970s. They have formed an association called “The former Consolata Sisters Students association”. They do have their own meetings and gatherings. They are well organized and keep always link with Consolata Sisters. As they are aware of the departure of Sr. Jacinta to Italy for six years, they organized the above-mentioned moment and celebration as a way of expressing their gratitude and different supports to Consolata Sisters in general and Sr. Jacinta in particular. The celebration began with the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Jean-Marie Bilwala-Kabesa, Imc and animated by one of the outstanding Catholic Choirs of Kenya. It started at 1:00 pm and finished around 2:33 pm, followed by some speeches and gifts to Sr. Jacinta Theuri, MC. After the Eucharistic Celebration, all of us were invited for lunch. In somehow, the celebration took another move: from smile to tears. It was simply a way of expressing their love. Our Sister Jacinta Theuri, MC joined the Consolata Sisters in 1985. From 1989 to 1995, she accomplished her missionary work in Italy. In the end of 1995 – 2001, she was in Brazil, and from 2001 – 2006, Sr. Jacinta Theuri was the responsible of the Consolata Junior Sisters in Nairobi – Kenya. From 2006 up to the end of August 2011 she is serving as Regional Superior of Consolata Sisters in Kenya. In the middle of September, she will leave Kenya to Italy where she is going to serve as Vice Mother General of the Institute.
