kenyawhatToday we want to inform you about the perpetual profession of Clarence Lukungu which took place in Kakamega diocese, particularly in Bunimi Parish on March 12, 2011. Brother Clarence Lukungu was born on 23rd of August 1980 at Malaha-Emukaniro in Mumias. He is the last born in a family of seven sons and three daughters of Brutenciana Anyangu Nandwa and the late Sylvester Lukungu Okoyo. Clarence attended St. Peter Ebusia and Muroni Primary Schools, after which he proceeded to Lubinu Secondary School, where he completed high school education. Touched by the work and dedication of the Consolata Missionaries in Kenya and the whole world; evangelization and human promotion and contrary to the expectation of his friends and relatives he opted for religious and missionary life. In 2001, he joined the Consolata Philosophicum Seminary in Nairobi where he pursued religious studies and motor vehicle mechanic, besides the basic formation he underwent in the seminary. In 2005, he joined Consolata novitiate in Sagana, and in 2006 he made the first religious profession as a member of the institute of the Consolata Missionaries. After the first religious profession, he was destined to Allamano House Theological Formation Centre for further formation. Besides, Clarence pursued education majoring in Mathematics. In 2010, upon completion of his formation and studies in Allamano House, he was sent for pastoral experience at Consolata School - Westlands (Nairobi) where he is working up to date. From Friday March 11, 2011 some of us Consolata Missionaries from the regional house community, a group of Consolata School staff – Westlands (Nairobi) and other Confreres of different communities began our journeys to Kakamega diocese for Clarence Lukungu’s perpetual profession. The celebration was exactly in his home parish called Bunimi on Saturday March 12, 2011. The distance between Bunimi and Nairobi is about 451 Km. Buinmi is a very nice place which includes very kind people and committed. We could see it through wonderful and well-organized celebrations, starting from the Eucharistic Celebration to the sharing of fraternal lunch. I can personally confirm now why Br. Clarence Lukungu is also an organized person and a kind person. What I saw in Bunimi totally witness this. The Holy Mass started at 10:13 and finished around 13:47. Due to the health problem, the Bishop delegated the Vicar General of Kakamega diocese to preside over the Holy Mass which was concelebrated by a good number of Imc and diocesans priests from other dioceses. The Imc presence was noticed by: Frs. Franco Cellana, Tobias Oliveira, Stephen Murage, Kizito Mukalazi, George Omondi, Martins Oluoch, M’kado Daniel, Moke Arthur, Matthew Odhiambo and Jean-Marie Bilwala; deacons Bernado, Tamene and Alexander; and lastly brothers Wakese, Benoit Makiong, Blaise Muyanda. Everybody left the compound of the Church with smile and thrill because of the wonderful and well-organized celebrations we got in Bunimi.
